NIGP Certified Procurement Professional (NIGP-CPP)

Coordinated through Professional Testing (PTI).

The NIGP Certification Commission offers the NIGP-CPP certification through its testing vendor Professional Testing (PTI). The NIGP-CPP is a competency-based certification that assesses how mid to senior level leaders deliver success to their organizations. The NIGP-CPP supports your career aspirations – today and into the future.

While many certification programs require procurement training or coursework for eligibility, the NIGP-CPP does not. This is because the NIGP-CPP exam assesses competencies and behaviors rather than knowledge. Eliminating this requirement gives you the flexibility to sharpen skills and competencies within specific learning modules that you choose, without any mandates. This includes Pathways, NIGP’s modular learning program which aligns with the same Public Procurement Competency Framework that anchors the NIGP-CPP.

The NIGP-CPP certification is a mark of distinction that assists both employers and the certified individual. The NIGP-CPP reflects a holistic view of what mid to senior level leaders do in the performance of their work. It not only includes procurement techniques (like planning, solicitation, contract administration) traditionally covered in other procurement certification programs; it also emphasizes the additional skills and competencies necessary for success in the workplace. To this point, half of the NIGP-CPP exam covers three critical focus areas that lead to success regardless of your specific role: Strategy (10%), Business Principles and Operations (14%), and Leadership (26%).

Exam appointments may be made up to one business day in advance. Locations are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

You are encouraged to schedule your exam appointment as soon as you receive your authorization-to-test email.
